The Central California Asthma Collaborative (CCAC) is hiring a full-time employee in Kern County. The Climate and Environmental Justice (CEJ) Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of CCAC’s various programs that address environmental inequities in California’s low-income and disadvantaged communities, with a focus on the San Joaquin Valley. CCAC’s CEJ programs include both air pollution and greenhouse gas reduction activities. Examples include, but are not limited to, clean transportation infrastructure and incentive programs, residential building decarbonization, community-based air monitoring and notification, air pollution source identification and emissions reduction, and climate resilience and adaptation. Community Action Partnership of Kern is hiring an Outreach and Advocacy Coordinator. The OAC organizes, and directs outreach, communications, and public relations for CAPK and develops promotional brochures, and literature. Oversees the creation and distribution of news releases, publications, newsletters, and special articles. Coordinates CAPK exhibit and materials for recruitment, outreach and awareness events. Maintains the CAPK website(s), Facebook, and other social-media resources and will act as the primary media liaison for CAPK. Coordinator will receive assistance in performing these duties from Community Development staff. Salary Range: $68,598.40 To 82,326.40 Annually. Community Organizers with Faith in the Valley Kern work to engage and develop grassroots leaders based in member congregations and their surrounding neighborhoods. Community Organizers train individual grassroots leaders and organizing teams to identify priority community concerns, research potential solutions and secure commitments from policy makers to implement these solutions to improve the community. This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
